You want to take part in the WACHAUmarathon as a fan?
We are happy to welcome you as a fan in the Wachau.There are many possibilities for companions to cheer for the runners directly along the route and at the same time enjoy the beauties of the Wachau and the unique atmosphere of the WACHAUmarathon..
Detailes information about possibilities to accompany the runners are listed below.
Danube ferries
The race route (B3) is closed between Krems and the roundabout in Emmersdorf (B3/B3A) between 8:00 and 15:30. However, you can drive on the other bank of the river (B33) with no restrictions.
In the following towns you have the possibility to take the ferry.
Arnsdorf – Spitz – Flying Bridge:
is free of charge all day for runners with bib numbers
Weißenkirchen – St. Lorenz – Flying Bridge:
to be paid on location
Dürnstein – Rossatz – Motorboat:
only possible for pedestrians and to be paid on location (one-way transfer €2.60).
In operation on the day of the marathon as of 8:00 am.
ATTENTION: New starting location for the Quartermarathon is Achleiten
Trains
All trains departing after 10:00 may be used by fans free of charge.
Bike
It is forbidden to accompany the runners on the route.
The stairway is open throughout the event. There are only delays when crossing the B3.
In the city of Krems itself there are numerous opportunities to cheer on the runners!
On the home straight at the Stadtpark you have the best view of the finishers and can follow the course of the race on the large video wall. Expert moderators provide you with all the important information about the race and make sure that you don’t miss a detail!
After crossing the finish line, the participants will receive their refreshments in the Stadtpark in Krems. Spectators do not have access to the finish catering. You can then collect your runners in the city park.

The WACHAUmarathon EXPO offers many attractive brands from the fields of leisure, sport and tourism and will be presented on Saturday, September 24, 2022 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Messe Krems, Utzstrasse 12, 3500 Krems.

Pacemaker-Service Marathon & Halfmarathon
On Sunday from 9.30 am on you find our SPORTaktiv & Vienna Insurance Group pacemaker at the startingareas in Emmersdorf and Spitz. The pacemakers are marked with beachflags and the estimated finishing time.
Halfmarathon:
