In the traditionally strong half marathon field, perfect running conditions on the fast course through the Wachau once again produced outstanding performances.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\">Kenya\u2019s Nathan Kipkoech won the half marathon in 1:00:41, finishing ahead of last year\u2019s winner and course record holder Mkulia Kipkandie, also from Kenya, who took second place in 1:01:30. Third place went to another Kenyan, Shadrack Kenduiywo, in 1:03:02. The course record of 59:47, set in 2025, was never seriously under threat.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\"><strong>New course record in the women\u2019s Wiener St\u00e4dtische Half Marathon<br \/><\/strong>The women\u2019s half marathon course record lasted just one year: Kenya\u2019s Christine Njoki improved last year\u2019s mark by 16 seconds, finishing in 1:08:17 \u2013 in her first appearance over the half marathon distance. Fellow Kenyan Selly Chesaria took second place in 1:09:31. Third place went to the best Austrian in the women\u2019s half marathon field, Elena Stockinger, in 1:24:21.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\"><strong>Raiffeisen Marathon with an Austrian one-two finish in the women\u2019s race<br \/><\/strong>Victory in the marathon went to James Price of Great Britain in 2:45:30. Austria\u2019s Nikolai Avinante finished second in 2:53:27, while Roman Malanka of Ukraine took third place in 2:54:20.<br \/>The women\u2019s marathon saw an Austrian one-two finish: Katrin Zauner was the fastest woman across the finish line in 3:05:29, with Monika Friedl taking second place in 3:15:33. German athlete Carmen Scharpfenecker finished third in 3:17:14.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"caret-color: #000000; color: #000000;\"><strong>Plenty of smiling faces at the Sportland N\u00d6 Quarter Marathon<br \/><\/strong>More than 800 runners took on the 11-kilometre course from Achleiten.
